THE SARAH O´BRIEN HISTORY:

Sarah grew up in Nottingham and trained at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and City University where she was awarded her Master's Degree.

On graduation Sarah won a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue Advanced Studies with Eleonore Schoenfeld at the University of Southern California.

Currently a studio musician in Hollywood, Sarah has performed/recorded with numerous artists including The Electric Light Orchestra, Yanni, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Ozzie Osbourne and Whitey Houston at the 2009 American Music Awards.

Sarah is composer of the new musical "Winds of Angkor". In addition to teaching privately, Sarah also coaches the young cellists of the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain. Full resume available on request.
Winds of Angkor has been written by British composer Sarah O'Brien who visited Cambodia in 1999 and 2006. She says; "The piece evolved musically from the initial concept of an intimate love duet to a full-scale theatrical production involving soloists, orchestra, Cambodian musicians and dancers, rhythm section and a state-of-the-art set that features spectacular 3D projections and video content.

It would be another massive leap forwards for Cambodia's artistic development if Sarah O'Brien's vision can come to life here in Cambodia, I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Visit the musical's website.

Many of you may recognize Sarah as the lovely blond cellist in Yanni's smash hit, "Live at the Acropolis" from 1994. She been on Yanni's tours ever since. A native of the United Kingdom, Sarah now makes her home in Los Angeles, California.

Sarah stays very involved in the music industry, performing with such world renowned artists as Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, among many others. Also a composer, Sarah has written a full length musical, "Winds of Angkor."

Sarah is set to release her latest CD, "Points of Departure," featuring Yanni's former drummer from "Tribute," Joel Taylor, within the next few weeks.

After the release of the 2001 album Zoom, Jeff Lynne announced a North American tour, their first live set of concerts in 15 years. A promotional PBS show was recorded over two consecutive nights at CBS Television City in Los Angeles.

The Electric Light Orchestra's management abruptly cancelled the tour (due to slow ticket sales) and this footage was released on VHS and DVD by Image Entertainment. The DVD earned Platinum status in Australia.

The live line-up of the group was very different from the group that last toured in the 1980s with only Richard Tandy remaining, alongside ELO leader Jeff Lynne.

All songs played on tour, except "Rock 'n' Roll Is King" and "All She Wanted", were released on either The Electric Light Orchestra Live album or the Zoom Tour Live VHS/DVD.
